Position Summary: The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for achieving sales and revenue goals in business to business (B2B) from lead generation to close in an assigned territory.

Responsibilities/Duties:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. · Build and maintain a network of sources from which to identify new sales leads.

· Communicate with customers and leads to identify and understand their product and/or service needs and suggest products and services to meet those needs.

· Monitor and follow through product and service sales through leads, creating quotes/orders, reviewing quotes/orders with customers, receiving orders from customers, and order completion follow-up.

· Maintain communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements that may be of interest.

· Receive and generate requests, through cold calls, site visits, telephone calls, web leads, fax, email, etc., for quotes, orders, and lead times from customers.

· Coordinate with other departments throughout the sales process and communicate information/updates to customers.

· Utilize company software tools to retrieve customer information, product information, the status of orders, and to make changes, as needed.

· Ensure excellent customer service and high levels of client satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management; answer questions and resolve complaints and concerns that may arise post-sale.

· Adheres to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.

· Complete all required paperwork/computer work and maintain detailed records of sales activities accurately and in a timely manner

· Other duties as assigned

Travel:

· This position requires travel to current and perspective customers, job sites and other business functions.

· Travel is expected to be 55 - 60% with the employee being home at night

Abilities and Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, or related software.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills set.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Must be willing to work in a “Team Environment” and have high self-motivation.
  • Must be comfortable with heights. May have to use a scissor lift to get measurements for a quote and can be 30’+.

Qualifications:

· Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

· At least 2 - 3 years of experience in outside sales or related experience required.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee in order to perform the essential functions of this job successfully. While performing duties of this job, the employee will be sitting at a desk and working on a computer for prolonged periods of time. The employee will spend time traveling. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
